CSOSA Redefines Community Supervision in D.C.

Since its certification as an independent Federal agency in 2000, CSOSA has significantly improved the adult probation and parole system in the District of Columbia. We have implemented strategies to supervise offenders more closely and hold them to a higher level of accountability; we have developed a state-of-the-art case management system and automated risk assessment tool; we have developed a range of substance abuse treatment and other programming options to meet offenders' needs, and we have implemented an innovative network of community partnerships and collaborations.
